Set directly overlooking Maui's Makena Bay, Makena Landing, and Maluaka Beach, Coral Gardens Estate is the ideal location to enjoy exceptional ocean views and seasonal sunsets and whale watching. You've also likely heard of "Turtle Town"? Coral Gardens Estate is in the very heart of "Turtle Town". From time to time a pod of dolphins may swim into the shallow waters in front of the house too! Other sea life that you may be able to view are rays, whales, tropical reef fish, monk seals, crabs, lobsters and more.

Directly from the property or from the park that adjoins the property, you can swim, snorkel, scuba dive, paddle board, and kayak. Coral Gardens Estate at Makena Bay offers the perfect indoor/outdoor living experience. From the pool patio area, there is immediate ocean access just 14 steps away on both sides of the property. To utilize these access routes you will want to wear foot protection. For sandy sloping and easy beach access, just traverse Makena Landing park for one half block and use the beach and boat ramp area to get into the horseshoe shaped bay.

Your vacation at Coral Gardens Estate will likely be most memorable for the picture-perfect panoramic ocean views. Gaze out at a panoramic azure blue sea while enjoying the infinity-edge heated pool, poolside whirlpool spa, and cabana bar. This terraced tropical haven is further enhanced with evening mood lighting throughout the garden, a Hawaiian-style thatched roof tiki bar, Stainless gas BBQ, outdoor dining, assorted lounging and seating areas, and outdoor shower. Relax on one of several padded reclining chaise lounge chairs while sunning on the very private patio.

The ocean view outdoor living areas, heated swimming pool and whirlpool spa are surrounded by tropical gardens – with the sound of the waves in the distance, it’s hard to imagine a more relaxing setting. Make the most of outdoor living with the alfresco poolside dining area, private cabana bar and gas barbecue-grill or enjoy a more formal and elegant ocean view dining setting within this comfortable home.

Within Coral Gardens Estate, the lower level of the home focuses on an expansive open-air and very modern styled great room with fully retracting sliding glass walls. The sofa set, kitchen bar counter, and indoor dining table were designed to easily accommodate eight guests. This ocean view living room is framed by an oversized HDTV and sound system. The fully equipped kitchen has top-quality appliances by Wolfe, Bosch and Sub-Zero as well as a separate wine refrigerator, Nespresso and Keurig Coffee Makers, and plenty of food storage space. On the lower level you will also find another third suite with a very spacious bedroom, parlor room, bath, and direct access to the pool patio. Behind the kitchen is a large laundry center, full shower bath, and a queen bedroom.

The upper level is comprised of two spacious private bedroom suites, each on a separate end of the house for maximum privacy. The panoramic ocean view bedrooms have king-size beds with elegant en-suite baths. Each suite opens up to a spacious ocean view alfresco covered veranda. A day bed and two other sofa beds provide extra sleeping areas for those who do not want to share beds.

We are dedicated to providing a first class vacation experience, therefore each room at Coral Gardens Estate has a large flat panel HD TV, DirectTV sat service, HD Blu-Ray CD/DVD player, and iPod dock. The great room and pool patio also have a multi-zone central speaker system. There is complimentary wi-fi and wired high speed internet, a printer/fax, security system, and other conveniences provided.

Walk or drive less than half a mile to sandy Maluaka Beach, a gorgeous half-moon shaped public sandy beach with public facilities. See beach access section below for additional beach adventures. Snorkel sail boats and charter boats operate from Maluaka Beach for sailing trips, snorkel sails, and sunset sails. Within a few blocks of Coral Gardens Estate are three championship golf courses, tennis courts, and not far away is Makena Stables for a horseback riding adventure. Wailea Golf Courses offer players some of the most verdant and picturesque golf of any tropical destination.

This vacation home is just minutes from Wailea Resort, Hawaii's premiere resort that is well known amongst discerning travelers for its legendary climate, unlimited water sports and ocean recreation, golden sand beaches, multiple championship Golf Courses, driving range, elegant Tennis Center and beautiful meandering beach side walking promenade. Housekeeping Services Provided A complimentary mid-week housekeeping service is included up to 8 hours (includes laundry wash time), if renting for 7 nights or longer, except for select peak season periods when Hotel-Style Light Daily Housekeeping is provided complimentary, along with a mid-week linen change. Personal laundry is excluded from any inclusive service. Our villas are extremely well stocked with an abundant supply of towels, blankets and extra bed linens. There is plenty of inventory to suffice for several days. Within the villa there is a laundry room with two washer/dryer sets, laundry supplies, iron and board. There is no housekeeping service on national holidays.
Extra Housekeeping Cost Additional a la carte housekeeping service is $50 per hour per housekeeper plus 4.166% GE tax with a 3 hour minimum. Advance notice is requested. Subject to availability.

Beach & Ocean Access A wonderful feature of Coral Gardens at Makena Bay is its close proximity to the ocean with beach access to enjoy some of Maui's fun adventures such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking and the ever popular stand up paddle board! This area is also known for our abundant and precious "honu" turtle sightings!

Fronting the home, from your secured garage you can simply walk 5 minutes from Coral Gardens directly to Makena Landing and to the Makena Public Park. This is a perfect spot to easily launch your rented beach equipment into the ocean. You will find a small beach area with a sandy bottom for easy access. If you prefer, we can coordinate group or private tours with a guide for personalized trips for all ages. Your guide will provide all your gear and all you need to do is have your swimsuit on and be ready for a exhilarating adventure!

From your pool lanai with its expansive ocean views you can also take the south stairway (18 steps) directly down to a locked gate which will lead you to the parking area of Makena Landing. Also, from your pool lanai on the north stairway (14 steps) will lead you to an outdoor shower and directly to the rocky coastline. Direct ocean access is very limited due to the large sharp lava rocks along this shore line.

If you walk or drive a short distance (less than one mile), there is a stunningly beautiful public free sandy beach called Maluaka Beach. There is public parking, restrooms and showers near Maluaka Beach.

A short drive further south just past Maluaka Beach and Makena Beach Resort are Maui’s very famous “Big” and “Little” Makena Beaches, which are a public beach park with daily lifeguards, parking and limited facilities.

Beyond Big and Little Beaches to the south are several other coves and designated nature reserves for hiking and snorkeling along the coastline.

Heading north towards Wailea Resort and into Kihei Town are a dozen plus additional other beautiful golden sand swimming beaches, all of which are available to the public with convenient parking and facilities. The beaches of Kamaole I, II and III in nearby Kihei are very family friendly and have lifeguards, showers, washrooms and free public parking. Explore a new beach every day!
Pool The private on-property private swimming pool is heated to 82 degrees F.

Pool is heated to 82F. Higher temperature requests require additional propane and electric costs starting at $125 per day and up depending on season and temperature setting request. Extra heating is subject to delivery availability with advance notice.

There are reclining chaise lounges around the pool and an alfresco shower area near the ocean access gate.

Located poolside is a cabana bar with sink, Sub-Zero bar refrigerator, Viking gas grill, and covered bar seating for entertaining, mixing your favorite drinks, and for tropical outdoor living.

The pool area is beautifully lit for very private evening swims.

There is no cover or fence for the pool.

Some pool toys are provided, but the stock rotates depending on it's condition and is not promised. We recommend that guests buy whatever pool toys you may enjoy using.

We also supply beach umbrellas, beach towels, back pack style beach chairs.

Boogie boards and other beach and ocean toys are sometimes available but not promised (flex inventory).
Outdoor Spa There is an ocean view private hot tub spa on property near the swimming pool. The master suite has a whirlpool spa bath tub.

Most homes and villas in Hawaii are equipped with residential grade equipment which does not provide bottomless cooling. Cooling is available to a reasonable temperature, usually in the 70-72 range on the very low end. Most guests find that a setting of 72-74 is very comfortable once a unit has been allowed to cool down and with doors and windows closed. At select properties, the air conditioning may only function to a temperature in the 72-74 range with lower temperature settings mechanically excluded.

Entertainment The Living Room has a top quality extra-large high definition 65" television. Entertainment is provided in each bedroom with a large flat screen television, CD/DVD. There are a total of six televisions throughout Coral Gardens, and each TV has DirectTV service and Blu-Ray CD/DVD players.

The house has a central stereo surround speaker system with adjustable sound levels for various rooms and by the pool.

VILLA SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES
  • There is no cover or fence for the pool. Guests are encouraged to actively monitor all pool and hot tub spa use. Guests are encouraged to bring any and all water safety devices they may need including water alert wristbands. Guest use of the outdoor areas including the pool and spa is at the guest's discretion and risk.
  • Nearby Makena Landing Park may have audible noise. This is a public park and we cannot control the noise levels, however, it is often lightly used during weekdays and the house has vegetation that separates it from the park. The house is very solidly built. We do not consider the park noise to be a major concern, but there may be ambiant living noises from the park at times.
  • Coral Gardens is not immediate ocean front property. There is another unassociated dwelling between Coral Gardens and the shore directly in front, although there are paths from the property to access the water - just 14 steps from the pool deck area. See ocean access above for more information.
  • Property is not equipped with tiki torches for safety reasons.
  • This is strictly a No Smoking property.
  • No pets. Parties and other loud noises or disruptive use is not allowed. Excess occupancy other than 8 persons is not allowed.
SPECIFIC RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS STIPULATED BY MAUI COUNTY AS A CONDITION FOR GRANTING THIS PROPERTY A SHORT-TERM (Vacation) RENTAL PERMIT/LICENSE:
  • Quiet Hours From 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., During Which Time the Noise from the Short-Term Rental Home Shall Not Unreasonably Disturb Adjacent Neighbors
  • Sound that is Audible Beyond the Property Boundaries During Non-Quiet Hours Shall Not be More Excessive than Would be Otherwise Associated with a Residential Area
  • Amplified Sound that is Audible Beyond the Property Boundaries of the Short-Term Rental Home is Prohibited
  • Vehicles Shall be Parked in the Designated Onsite Parking Area and Shall Not be Parked on the Street
  • No Parties and No Group Gatherings Other than Registered Guests Shall Occur
  • Occupancy is for 2 Guests per Bedroom
  • Rental is for One Set of Guests (one family) at a time. Property is Not Rented at the Same Time to Unaffiliated Persons

Most villas typically will be stocked with a barbeque grill, answering machine, alarm clocks, phone, television, video cassette recorder and/or DVD, CD stereo, washer & dryer, iron & board, coffee maker & grinder, microwave, blender, toaster oven, dishwasher, oven, range, ceiling fans, hair dryer, spices & herbs, paper & pen, kitchen supplies such as cookware, glassware, silverware, outdoor furnishings, starter supply of soap, paper, cleaning products and utensils, and dining, bed and bath linens. Usually some beach chairs and towels are provided. Guests often misplace beach towels and chairs therefore an exact inventory is not guaranteed unless reserving a luxury class home. Some homes also provide iPod docks, high speed internet access, wireless networks, fax machine, espresso/cappuccino machine, exercise equipment and other upscale toys. Please inquire if a specific amenity will improve your comfort or convenience.
Amenities Not Included
Provide your own toiletries, slippers, and wrap, however Private Paradise Villas does stock in its managed homes bathrobes and custom toiletries. Recreational equipment, if found on the property is incidental, and is not a guaranteed feature of the house inventory. Boogie Boards, Snorkel Sets, Surf Boards, Kayaks, Bicycles, and other sports equipment can be rented in advance through third party providers. Please inquire with our Concierge for reservations.
Rates Include
Direct local phone, parking (except at condominiums or hotels), Concierge assistance, optional greeting upon arrival, occupancy up to the maximum number of persons allowed, weekly pool/spa service, weekly gardening, post-departure cleaning if not charged separately, extra person fees and housekeeping services as noted up to the stated maximum amount.

Standard Policies
Respect the stated maximum occupancy allowed please! This is very important, as all private homes in our collection are the valuable and beloved second homes of individual private owners. The availability and future right to enjoy our multi-million dollar vacation homes is conditioned upon each guest respecting the owner's pre-disclosed specific terms and conditions. Remove your shoes upon entering your home, as Hawaii's volcanic soil can stain carpets, tile, and fabrics. Step outside to smoke please. No pets on property. Rinse off sand and sun lotions before walking on interior floors sitting on furniture. Sun products will stain upholstery and linens and may damage furnishings. Weddings, receptions, and gatherings are strictly prohibited on any of our properties, due to residential zoning codes which discourage non-residential use, boisterous use causing noise complaints, excessive occupancy causing parking problems in the neighborhood, or any use involving additional non registered guests on the property.
Cancellation Policy
REFUND & CANCELLATIONS: GUEST UNDERSTANDS AND ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE INITIAL PAYMENT BY GUEST IS NON-REFUNDABLE, UNLESS THE PROPERTY IS DAMAGED BY A CAUSE OTHER THAN GUEST NEGLIGENCE, OR IF THE PROPERTY IS OTHERWISE RENDERED UNFIT FOR HABITATION AND NO ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE PROPERTY CAN BE ARRANGED.
